Start with your model
AeroPress has different sizes and designs. Use the manufacturer instructions for the one you own, including the filter, assembly, cup and fill guidance. Do not assume an online recipe written for another model fits your chamber or serving size.
Prepare the working space
Set out coffee, water, the specified filter and a sturdy compatible cup before beginning. Keep the surface stable and allow space to set down hot equipment. Use the standard upright method described by the maker when learning; this guide does not recommend improvised inverted brewing.
Record the recipe accurately
Note dry coffee, water added, grind, stirring and the point at which you press. If you dilute the brewed concentrate, record that added water separately. A single “ratio” without saying whether it includes dilution can make two apparently identical recipes behave very differently.
Make the routine repeatable
Compare one change at a time. The method should be comfortable enough that you can repeat it on an ordinary morning. If you need more coffee than the brewer is intended to make, plan a second brew or choose a suitable larger method rather than overfilling.
Finish with care
Follow the maker’s directions for pressure, disassembly and washing. If pressing becomes unusually difficult, do not compensate by forcing the brewer. Consult the instructions and inspect the setup before trying again.
